What makes Gujarati captions hard.

    Accurate Gujarati speech

    General speech models struggle with Gujarati: the Whisper model we tested got 83% of words wrong. Captions need a model trained for Indian languages.

    Fonts that lack letters

    Most display fonts have no Gujarati at all, and some Gujarati fonts miss the Gujarati digits ૦–૯. Most tools then show empty boxes.

  3. 03

    Conjuncts and vowel signs

    Letters like ક્ષ, જ્ઞ and શ્ર are built from several characters, and vowel signs attach around them. A renderer that gets this wrong shows broken words.
