Summary
- We collect what we need to caption your videos and run your account, and nothing for advertising.
- Uploaded videos and exports are deleted 30 days after upload.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time from Settings.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, a hashed password (or your Google sign-in), and session details (IP address, browser) to keep you signed in and secure.
- Your content: the videos you upload, the audio we extract from them, transcripts, caption styles and the exports we make.
- Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card details go to Dodo Payments; we never see card numbers.
- Usage: counts of signups, uploads, exports and upgrades, and error reports, to run and improve the service.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded videos and exports: deleted automatically 30 days after upload.
- Transcripts and styles: kept with your projects until you delete them or your account.
- Account data: until you delete your account. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Who processes it for us
We use these services to run Fontreel. They process data only on our instructions.

Some of these services are outside your country, including in the United States and India.
Cookies
Inside the app we use one cookie to keep you signed in, and one to remember the currency you picked for prices. Both are needed for what you asked for. Product usage counts are recorded on our servers, without cookies.
On our public pages (home, pricing, the language guides and these legal pages), Google Analytics measures visits: which pages are viewed, where visitors came from, and their device and approximate location. Outside the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland it sets its own analytics cookies (named _ga) to recognise a returning visitor; inside those regions it runs without cookies. It never runs inside the app, and we don't use it for advertising. To opt out, use Google's opt-out add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and all its data from Settings, at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it: [email protected].
- You may have further rights under the law where you live, and can complain to your data-protection authority.
